Our individual outpatient sessions aim to provide a more personalized  approach to recovery. In these sessions a certified counselor addresses the body, mind, spirit, and emotions through a variety of techniques to help patients identify barriers to recovery.

Intensive Outpatient Program

M&M Behavioral Health Solutions offers an outpatient substance abuse program that includes two levels of treatment - individual sessions and an Intensive Outpatient Program. Through either program, clients can expect a supportive, judge-free environment conducive to the recovery process. Both programs address a number of addictions: alcohol. drugs. gambling. video-gaming, and internet addiction. The first step is contacting the office to make your appointment (410)-766-6624 or admissions@mmbhs.com.

Q: WHAT IS AN INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM?

Intensive Outpatient Treatment (also known as IOP for "Intensive Outpatient Program") is a primary treatment program recommended in some circumstances by a clinical and medical assessment. IOP may be recommended for those who do not need medically-supervised detox. IOP can also enable people in recovery to continue their recovery therapies following successful detox, on a part-time yet intensive schedule, designed to accommodate work and family life.

Start rebuilding your personal life and mending your important family ties right away, when you live at home and participate in intensive outpatient treatment. With the Intensive Outpatient Treatment program you are able to establish a foundation for long term recovery support in your local community right from the start of your treatment, instead of waiting until you return from living away in a rehab center.

Q: WHAT SORT OF THERAPIES AND ACTIVITIES ARE INVOLVED WHEN PARTICIPATING IN THE INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM?

In the Intensive Outpatient Program, you receive services primarily through group therapy, but are also may be assigned an individual therapist who you may meet with while in IOP treatment. Groups are small and generally do not exceed 10 people, allowing for a safe environment.

Many different areas and topics are covered in the IOP. Everyone is introduced to the following areas while in the IOP at M&M Behavioral Health Solutions:

Relapse Prevention Skills
How to Manage Urges and Cravings
Understanding the Brain Chemistry of Addiction
Progression of the Disease of Addiction
Introduction To the Twelve Steps
Spirituality
Stages of Change
Focus On Co-Occurring Disorders and the Effects On Addiction and Recovery
Effects of Addiction on Family ties

Depending on your needs, you may be referred to additional comprehensive mental health treatment, or training in how to increase healthy life skills, or employment counseling.
